T-Mobile owner Deutsche Telecom has provided Euro 2 million second-rounding funding for German flight search engine Swoodoo.

T-Online Venture Fund, Deutsche Telecom’s corporate venture wing, said that Swoodoo “will use the capital raised to advance its product development, marketing and internationalisation”.

Currently the site is exclusively focussed on the German market and does not have an English language version.

Swoodoo was launched in 2006 by German entrepreneur Matthias Zahn with Euro 500,000 first round capital.

More cash will be raised at the start of next year “to accelerate its expansion”.

T-Online Venture Fund’s involvement with Swoodoo “also signals the start of further co-operations with several subsidiaries of Deutsche Telekom, including [German lates specialist] TravelScout24”.

Global communications giant T-Mobile is also owned by Deutsche Telekom.
