Mobile Travel Technologies (MTT) has appointed David Moran as its new chief executive.

Based in the technology specialist’s Dublin headquarters, Moran will join the company on March 1.

Previously, Moran worked at ChangingWorlds Inc, a company providing “personalisation solutions” to mobile operating companies, through to its acquisition by Amdocs Inc, before becoming president of its Dedicated Solutions Division.

He has also held executive positions in the US with Morgan Stanley, Software AG, Prism Solutions, Ardent Software and Insight Venture Partners, and was chief executive officer at MediaBin.

Today’s announcement follows news that MTT, which was acquired by Travelport in July last year, is creating 70 new technical and commercial roles across its business.

In his new role, David will report to Bryan Conway, one of Travelport’s senior executives.

“David has a proven track-record not only in mobile technology but also in taking maturing start-ups through to the next phase of their growth,” he said. “David is also a highly regarded leader and I’m delighted he is joining MTT.”

Moran said: “It’s very exciting to be joining such a talented team which truly understands this fast-growing digital economy and has built a well-deserved reputation for innovation in it. I want to bring to the business the acumen and experience I have gained from other sectors.”
