Samantha Otter has been promoted to global marketing director by travel search platform Cheapflights less than a year after joining the business.

Otter joined Cheapflights as global head of marketing in March 2015 and will now lead a team of 30 with responsibility for driving awareness for the brand and supporting its growth plans.

She spearheaded new turn-of-year TV advertising creative which the company claims has helped it achieve its most successful January ever.

Otter said: “We’ll be focused on creating and delivering engaging campaigns in our key markets across the world, regaining our rightful market share and attracting new users to our range of dynamic platforms.”

Managing director, Andrew Shelton, said: “Sam’s been a phenomenal addition to the Cheapflights team since she joined us last year.

“I’m delighted that we’ll continue to benefit from her expertise as a marketer and a leader, and am very confident that under her stewardship we’ll see future success like that of the ‘Flying Stuntman’ campaign.”

Meanwhile, Kam Rai has also been promoted to head of business intelligence, with overall strategic and operational responsibility for the analysis and interpretation of the data generated daily across Cheapflights’ platforms.
