Amadeus and AccessRail make rail and bus operators bookable for agents

Content aggregator AccessRail and Amadeus have made 18 rail and bus operators bookable for travel agents on the same screen as air.

Content aggregator AccessRail and Amadeus have made 18 rail and bus operators bookable for travel agents on the same screen as air.

Among other options available via Amadeus’s Air-Rail Display, agents will be able to offer Deutsche Bahn’s stand-alone services in Germany and National Express bus routes in the UK, in addition to popular routes such as London Heathrow-Bristol with Great Western Railway and Madrid-Barcelona with Spanish Renfe.

“We are thrilled to count once again on Amadeus to keep on uniting the ground and air travel worlds,” said Denis Grenier, vice president marketing at AccessRail.

“More and more railways are recognising the value of tapping into new sales channels.

“We have opened an easy door to travel agencies far and wide and established our partnership as a reference in multimodal travel.”

Thomas Drexler, director rail and ground travel at Amadeus, said: “Amadeus and AccessRail laid the tracks for door-to-door travel nearly 20 years ago by introducing the first rail and bus options to the travel agency channel.

“Today, this partnership reinforces this commitment as travel agencies can compare and contrast 18 ground options with air for the same city-pair, offering travellers exponential choice and visibility throughout their journey to enhance their experience.”
