Amadeus has rolled out new automated online ticket changing technology to save its agents time.
Amadeus Ticket Changer (ATC) Shopper is a self-service product that enables agent customers to make changes and rebook flights themselves 24/7.
Amadeus claims it is the world’s first self-service online rebooking solution.
ATC Shopper can modify all types of tickets and fares, before and after departure providing access to different routes, itineraries and schedules.
Amadeus said “customers can rebook their flights on their own and feel confident that they secured a good deal”.
It added online travel agents will benefit from fewer calls, a reduced risk of errors, and improved customer satisfaction and loyalty.
The firm said it expects ATC Shopper will increase flight changes and improve earnings for online travel agencies offering this option to their customers.
Rudy Daniello, vice-president distribution product management at Amadeus, said: “We created ATC Shopper because we know that passengers want to have control of their itinerary and travel agents want to provide their customers with the best possible experience.
“ATC Shopper is another step forward in the world of personalised travel.”
European online agency Tickets Travel Network, has been testing the new functionality. Viktor Voitsehovskiy, chief commercial officer, said: “Up-to-date innovative technologies are extremely important for our business.
“We strive to use maximum automation of our processes because this allows us to save our agents’ and our clients’ time, resulting in increased earnings.
“With the help of ATC Shopper, we automated most of our ticket reissues and returns processes. We are happy to be amongst the lucky few that Amadeus invited to pilot ATC Shopper. So far we’ve had great feedback from our customers.”
ATC Shopper is the latest addition to the ATC suite which includes Amadeus Ticket Changer Reissue, Amadeus Ticket Changer Involuntary and Amadeus Ticket Changer Refund.
