Atcore acquires TigerBay Software

Atcore Technology has bought travel technology supplier TigerBay Software.

Travel technology company Atcore has bought tour operator IT supplier TigerBay Software for an undisclosed sum.

TigerBay, which provides tour operating platforms, counts Mark Warner, Wendy Wu Tours and Sunvil among its clients.

Atcore said the acquisition would strengthen its suite of products, increase its breadth and services, and enable “expansion into specialist market sectors”.

TigerBay managing director, Carl Morgan, and the rest of the firm’s existing management team will continue to lead the business from Cardiff.

Atcore, formerly known as Anite Travel, was the subject of a £45-million management buy-out from former parent Anite in May 2014.

It re-branded as Atcore just over a year ago.

The company is backed by private equity firm LDC (Lloyds Development Capital).

Atcore chief commercial officer, Dave Cruickshank, said: “Over the last few years we have admired the fantastic progress Carl and his team have made.

“It makes great sense that we join forces as TigerBay offers the best product in the market for specialist travel companies and smaller tour operators, while our own product Atcom is the market leading platform for larger tour operators.

“We look forward to supporting Carl and the team in continuing to deliver the innovative and responsive relationships that they are known for.”

Morgan added: “Partnering with Atcore gives us the best of both worlds, providing big company support for expansion while maintaining the ability to be nimble and reactive to our customers’ needs.”
