The Associated Newspapers-backed Centurion Holiday Group has bought Trustaccomodation.com for an undisclosed fee.
The acquisition has been billed as a major step for Trustaccommodation.com to expand its activities, with CHG installing Trust’s sales and marketing director John Harding as group chief executive.
CHG owns dynamic packaging retail call centres Sunstar and Media Travel, and counts Associated Newspapers as a major shareholder, holding a 38% stake.
Harding said “This is great news for Centurion Holiday Group and indeed for the trade.
“In the light of recent announcements regarding the dilution of customer financial protection, any agent booking with Trustaccommodation.com can be assured all their money is fully protected, unlike with some of our major competitors.”
Recent signings at Trust include Miguel Burnay as head of purchasing for Western Mediterranean.
“This will ensure that the company continues to develop coverage in key areas and to expand on its position as the prime quality accommodation supplier in Spain, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey and Egypt,” Harding said of Burnay’s appointment.
Meanwhile CHG has handed ABTA board member and director of International Rescue Roger Allard and Simon Dyson, group finance director of Associated Newspapers, non-executive director positions.
