Hotel representation company Utell has unveiled a mobile reservations service for its properties.

The secure service enables travellers to view hotel details, images, rates and make bookings.

The technology has been developed by Dublin-based Mobile Travel Technologies and has already been used by 100 properties.

Users can access the service via mobile.utell.com and the company is planning a range of search engine optimisation activities to ensure properties rank highly.

Utell’s parent company Pegasus Solutions has been trialling the mobile phone service since late last year.

The company has also been looking at ways to enhance the mobile platform further by allowing travellers booking via a PC to receive a confirmation text with all the details to their mobile phone.

Other initiatives in the pipeline include technology for hotel members to text guests with welcome messages and other marketing information as well as a facility to send local hotel information to travellers’ mobile devices helping them to find their nearest property.
