UK broadcaster ITV has selected Airtrack to run online travel search and bookings for visitors to its Formula 1 website.

The specialist sport and event agency will handle all travel functionality on ITV.com/F1 as part of a deal to secure bookings for fans at the remaining races of the season.

Visitors will be able to secure flights and accommodation via an online booking system but will also be directed to the Airtrack call centre for complicated transactions.

Airtrack’s Barry Bristow told Travolution the site would be more useful to race fans than the Expedia white label system on F1.com as Airtrack books accommodation at venues ahead of time, rather than attempting to secure bookings ad-hoc.

The system will be in place until at least the end of the current F1 season, when ITV’s broadcast rights expire.
