TUI Travel-owned accommodation booking outfit Hotelopia is to join a growing list of providers and add user reviews to its website.

The system will allow customers who have stayed at a property to rate services such as quality of room and food as well as other facilities and cleanliness.

The reviews and ratings will be streamed into Hotelopia’s properties on EasyJet.com.

Other aspects of a hotel experience a customer will be able to rank will include, staff professionalism, check-in procedure and value for money, alongside suitability for families, groups or business travellers.

Hotelopia director of sales and marketing, Sotiris Damianos, said the review system would be more trustworthy than existing review sites.

“They can only be submitted by persons who have actually booked the hotel unlike other sites which are not as effective in controlling this and are prone to influence from individuals submitting reviews with particular interests.”

“The customer comments also provide important feedback for our global hotel contracting teams responsible for selecting and sourcing the thousands of hotels on offer at the best possible rates.”

TUI sister-brand Thomson currently uses TripAdvisor to provide user reviews against its hotel properties.
