Google HR boss takes Cheapflights non-exec role
Liane Hornsey, a senior Google executive in Europe, is to join price comparison company Cheapflights as a non-executive director.
The appointment will see Hornsey, a former HR chief at Lastminute.com, oversee the remuneration committee on the board at Cheapflights as it looks expand operations into new markets.
Hornsey is currently director of people operations for Google in Europe, Middle East and Africa and has also held senior positions at NTL, BT and the Bertelsman Music Group.
Cheapflights’ chief executive Chris Cuddy said: “Liane’s international experience with fast growing online media companies will be a huge asset as we chart our next period of growth.”
Non-executive chairman John Clare added: “Her [Hornsey’s] mix of experience in online and media, as well as in Europe, will be invaluable to the board in the next phase of our planned expansion.”
