The widely sought after Hitwise Performance Awards kite marks for 2007 have been handed out to a string of UK travel companies.
The recognition is seen by many online companies as a useful marketing tool as winners are allowed to display the Hitwise logo for high performance on their websites.
Positions are secured via a combination of the percentage of user visits and the volume of searches for a particular brand.
Other sector winners include Bebo (social networks), BMW (car manufacturing), Tate (culture), Next (clothing) and Liverpool FC (football).
