The company says it is responding to customer demand by offering users the ability book flights and hotels in a single booking via the mobile app, resulting in savings for users compared to booking the components separately.

The updated ebookers app recommends the best value combined deals.

The app also gives users the option to tailor their combined flight and hotel booking by selecting their preferred hotel, room and flight preferences.

Nigel Pocklington, president of ebookers, said: “The focus across the travel industry has been on last-minute hotel bookings in mobile apps, but we are beginning to see an expansion of how consumers use their mobile devices.

“Over the past year, ebookers has seen a 125% increase in flight plus hotel combined bookings on a smartphone through our mobile website.

“On average, customers are spending nearly £840 on those packages and purchasing them nearly two months in advance.

“With a higher demand for customers to book flights and hotels in a single booking in order to save more money, we’re leading the way across the industry by passing on savings to our customers when they purchase a flight and hotel together.

“Delivering this consistent experience through our mobile app is just one of the ways we can offer our customers a more rewarding travel experience.”
