Emirates has introduced Apple Pay for UK and US online bookings.

The carrier will offer Apple Pay within its app, with customers able to book via Touch ID, removing the need to manually fill out account forms.

Thierry Antinori, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at Emirates, said: “The customer experience is at the heart of what we do and we always aim to raise the bar through innovation.”

When credit or debit cards are added to Apple Pay, the card numbers are not stored on the device or servers, meaning it a secure process.

Emirates will extend the service to other markets as soon as it becomes available.

British Airways has also announced it will offer customers access to Apple Pay through its app.
