Travelwhere encourages consumers to ‘phonethrough’ to tour operators

Holiday search engine Travelwhere has launched a new consumer website aimed at driving customers to tour operators.

A new ‘phonethrough’ feature has been designed to encourage consumers to speak directly to tour operators specialising in activity, adventure and cultural holidays.

Travelwhere hope the feature will drive “better qualified leads and a higher conversion ratio to booking”.

Following on from the company’s original Wow app, the new site mirrors its design with images and copy alongside interactive maps.

Also featured are ‘Top 10’ destination lists such as Safaris & Wildlife and Take Your Breath Away.

Ian Champness, founder and chief executive of Travelwhere, said: “Marrying inspiration with the booking journey has so far eluded most search and booking travel websites.

“We have thought long and hard about how to deliver a combination that inspires consumers with ideas from image-led articles with a call-to-action to speak directly to tour operators’ call centres for improved booking conversions.

“We think we’ve developed an innovative new model and marketing platform that will resonate with both consumers and the trade and put us at the forefront of special holiday planning.”

The site also has a ‘speak to an expert’ feature for each destination.
