Trip4real boosted by second million-euro investment deal

Peer-to-peer experiences platform Trip4real has received its second million-euro investment.

Peer-to-peer experiences platform Trip4real has received its second million-euro investment.

The goal of the investment, from the Spanish Ministry of Tourism, is to support young entrepreneurs, such as trip4real founder Gloria Molins, in developing innovative projects that improve the competitiveness and profitability of the Spanish tourism sector.

Trip4real announced a partnership with Expedia.com in March.

The latest round of capital will allow trip4real to continue its international expansion while focusing on launching new product features.

It features more than 4,000 local activities in London, Paris, Barcelona, Lisbon, Amsterdam, Dublin, Edinburgh and Rome.

“This proves that we’re on the right track and that people are excited about this new way of travelling like a local,” said Molins.

“The next year is all about international expansion and product development, so expect to see Berlin, Prague and Istanbul up next.”

Trip4real aims to help entrepreneurs across Europe generate extra income by giving them a platform to create, list and sell their creative tours to travellers from around the world. Each trip is made to order, and apparently can range from dinner with a gangster in Barcelona to running with Olympians in Paris.
