Travel technology specialist GoQuo has signed up its first customer for the GQTours system.

GQTours, which was unveiled at the Travel Technology Show earlier this month, combines elements of GoQuo’s existing technologies such as GQDynamic, GQHotel and GQAgent to create a flexible system for tour operators.

The system is designed to enable operators to offer more choice to customers by enabling the packaging of travel components as well as provide a tour operating system for travel suppliers looking to start up a tour operation.

GQTours is to be implemented by a London-based travel agency with three brands specialising in travel to the Indian Ocean, Far East and Africa.

The agency already uses a number of GoQuo’s products and plans to develop its own tour operation using GQTours to package up travel for its customers.

The technology can also be used across a number of distribution channels including websites and call-centres accessing travel components from GoQuo’s content providers including hotels, car-hire, cruises and insurance as well as a tour operator’s existing inventory.

GoQuo managing director Ron Ramanan said the technology was specifically designed to cater for the complex itineraries tour operators have to manage.
