The Tour Revenue Optimizer system was first built for Thomson in 2001 and was extended in 2007 across the operator’s network of reservation systems.
TRO automatically calculates package holiday prices based on demand for both beds and seats and feeds into online, call centre and retail systems.
The system is now set to be installed on the Haven Holidays platform in the second quarter of 2008.
Thomson operational research general manager Aaron Sugarman said: “TUI processes between 50,000 and 100,000 price-change recommendations every day, 90% of which are automatically accepted without human intervention.
“The JDA application is capable of adjusting the prices of holidays to ensure that it uses all available flight and hotel capacity andf takes the demand forecast, available capacity and incremental costs of sale to adjust price for maximum profit.”
