Travelmarket.com, one of Scandinavia’s oldest travel search engines, will officially launch a dedicated site for the UK market on February 29.

The site – Travelmarket.co.uk – will use a mixture of XML feeds and screen scraping to aggregate prices from around 300 airlines, low-cost carriers and online travel agencies.

Travelmarket.com also aggregates 700,000 hotel options through Hotels Combined and car hire, courtesy of CarTrawler.

The Denmark-based company, which was listed on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange in December 2007, is hoping to increase the number of sources to more than 500 by the middle of 2008.

Chief executive Ole Stouby said: “We always try to offer the best fares to the consumers – no matter if we have an income or not from companies integrated in our travel search engine platform.

“We believe that income – clicks or CPA – from prices on the result pages will be close to zero within the next couple of years. Instead our business model gives us income from travel offer ads and banners.”
