Thomson has introduced a web chat link from Thomson.co.uk, to help holidaymakers consult Thomson experts to sort out their travel-related queries.

Each week will have a different theme, relevant to the particular expert. The first web chat this year featured travel expert and TV presenter, Russell Amerasekara, giving useful tips and information about cruise holidays.

The new innovation follows the success of a one-off web chat last year in which Thomson’s website was inundated with questions.

Thomson head of new media Graham Donoghue said: “Internet bookers are always on the look out for new ways of gaining information on all aspects of holidaying abroad. And what
better way than to speak to the experts in your own home?”

Thomson’s home site has a button labelled ‘Ask a question’. By clicking on the button, an option to pose a question related to numerous topics is available.

This new feature follows recent additions such as video brochures and a Google Earth overlay of Thomson Holidays.
