The latest travel operation that wants to keep its customers up to date is Virgin Atlantic, which claims it has become the first airline to launch ‘desktop alerts’, a unique method of receiving the latest information from the airline direct to the customer’s desktop.

Users can sign up to the service by logging on to Virgin’s website, Virginatlantic.com.

According to the company, the new Virgin Atlantic Alerts service allows people to quickly and simply download and deliver the latest Virgin Atlantic news and special offers straight to their desktop on a complimentary basis.

The company promised that anyone wishing to take advantage of the service could sign up anonymously without having to complete forms or provide any personal details.

Virgin said the service would allow users to be among the first to receive special fare offers and product and service updates, direct to their desktop.
