TravelTek is to launch what it claims is the first web-based back office system for travel agents.

iBos will plug into existing TravelTek web-based products for its dynamic packaging and cruise tools.

Managing director Kenny Picken said the product is flexible enough to be used by small travel agents, consortia and online travel agencies.

The system will be officially unveiled at the Travel Technology Show next week in London and will allow customers to operate their ecommerce on a web-hosted system rather than on a server.

Picken said: “The addition of the new Traveltek “This is all in one integrated system with full back-office functionality, including on-line balance payments, whether the client is a travel agent or a tour operator.

“Historically back office systems providers have made life difficult to export customer data so that you stay with them. However with “iBos” everything is totally transparent , totally portable, yet very secure and extremely easy to use.”

The iBos system will be hosted on the NTT Europe web servers.
