James Villa Holidays has unveiled a new-look website featuring improved navigation, design and intuitive search facilities for users.

The redesign of the site is the first part of a bigger focus on online sales for the company and was carried out by E3Media.

The improvements include a major focus on photography and dedicated content for its Best of James and Leisure Resort product lines.

A search filtering system is being introduced for the first time to allow visitors to browse properties based on their facilities as well as location and availability.

E-commerce manager Andy Smith said: “Our website is an integral part of all the company’s marketing, with over 3.5million unique users per year it plays an important role in communicating with our customers.

“With the influence of the internet increasing in general, we identified a need to make changes to the James Villa Holidays website.”

A second wave of improvements to the company’s online channel is expected to include viral marketing – using content from The Internet Video Company – and some elements of social networking.

Smith added: “We wanted to make it [the new site] easier to research destinations, simpler for potential customers to find the right villa for them and, of course, we wanted to ensure that customers are easily able to buy the holiday they want – including villa and flight choices, car hire and insurance.”

All digital marketing for the company – including search engine optimisation and ad sales – is handled in-house except for pay-per-click advertising, which is handled by The Search Works.
