Sky has signed a major partnership deal with Expedia and TripAdvisor to include full functionality and content on its website.

The deal is the first time Expedia and TripAdvisor in the UK have worked together with a third party website.

Flight, hotel, city breaks and car hire search and booking functionality will be provided by Expedia Distribution and hotel reviews streamed onto the Sky.com/travel site through TripAdvisor.

BSkyBo online business unit managing director, Andy Jonesco, said: “We want to work with those travel partners like Expedia who have innovative and distinctive travel offers as well as the content that travellers value.

TripAdvisor Europe managing director Marc Charron added: “We know travellers trust and rely on opinions and advice from other travellers for their holiday choices. We are pleased Sky will make TripAdvisor reviews and ratings readily available to their customers as they book.”

Visitors will also be able to add their own reviews on a TripAdvisor-branded landing page on the Sky site.

David Roche, senior vice president for Expedia Distribution, said: “Expedia and TripAdvisor have combined to offer Sky customers a unique way of accessing our award-winning travel tools and content, in an agreement that is the first of its kind in the UK.

“This new partnership highlights both the strength of Expedia Distribution’s combined offering and the flexible way in which we can adapt this to our partners’ needs.”
