Agents are now able to view live information on the status of their brochure orders using a new system from BP Travel Marketing Services.

The company launched the new Orbit system, which links 7,000 travel agents and 200 tour operators, before Christmas after discussions with clients.

Agents are now able to view real-time information on Trade-gate.co.uk about which brochure they can expect to receive and when. The new look website also displays brochure front covers for quicker reference and more detail as well as new downloadable e-brochures.

The process for ordering brochures is now simpler, with one less stage to progress through.

Meanwhile, tour operators are using new BrochureXec software which allows more accurate distribution controls. “This way operators can view agents’ booking data and brochure usage information,” said director of sales and marketing Steve Martin.

“That allows them to direct brochures to where the best results are being achieved.”
