Gates Travel in Cumbria has launched a website that incorporates blogging and a carbon footprint calculator.
Each agent contributes to a travel blog where they provide tips and share their own personal travel experiences.
Managing director Nick Chaloner said: “The website provides customers with their own personal team of travel experts. We want to combine the friendliness of our face-to-face service with the convenience of being able to plan or book your holiday online.”
The first blog entries include advice on how to keep your nerve on the world’s fastest roller coaster, to how to come face-to-face with elephants in South Africa.
Other sections include a page where holidaymakers can upload their snaps and a selection of travel games.
Web design company Crome Internet will also add a facility in which customers can design their own dynamic package.
