New online travel agency AlternativeAirlines.com has upgraded its technology platform with a system provided by Ypsilon.

The new system allows improved payment options, improved data security, a new booking engine and integration with 250 airlines.

Alternative Airlines was launched by Surrey-based FlightDirectors.com.

Managing director John Pope said: “2007 has been a great year, but we are very aware of the challenges ahead.

“To keep growing in a very dynamic market our core booking technology has got to keep pace with the increasing expectations of the on-line customer.

“In the future, our goal is make every airline in the world available for booking through our web site, including traditional “full service” and low-cost “no frills” carriers.

Ypsilon has also recently established a UK office to help serve its UK client base including British Airways.
