Travel software provider Open Destinations is celebrating after being listed in the inaugural Sunday Times BT Business SME Export Track 100.

The report, compiled by Fast Track, ranks the top 100 small and medium-sized companies (SMEs), with the fastest-growing overseas sales.

“We are delighted to be recognised among the fast growing companies in the UK,” said Kevin O’Sullivan, chief executive.

“After 15 years of being in business, this award reaffirms our belief that we have a platform that is both scalable and sustainable in the international marketplace.

“I think it also reinforces the message that the UK is a hub for travel technology.”

The selection process for the league table was based on research into each company’s size and their international customer base.

All companies listed had achieved total sales of between £5million and £25million in the latest year, with international sales accounting for at least 20%.

Open Destinations saw a rise in international sales of more than 53% in the past two years, which included the signing of new clients such as ETS in Turkey and Diethelm Travel Group in Southeast Asia.O’Sullivan expects sales to continue to grow over the next two years.

“We are currently talking to a number of large international tour operators,” he said.“We believe that the continued enhancements of our browser based system and the launch of our new channel manager integrations will continue to support this growth.”
