Sabre-Expedia deal faces delay

Expedia.com’s deal with Sabre to process some US domestic bookings for its website is believed to have hit a technological snag.

Both sides have remained quiet on a timetable but Expedia Inc chairman Barry Diller recently broke the silence and said the pipes will “probably be ready by the summer”.

The deal will end Worldspan’s monopoly on that aspect of Expedia’s business. Expedia has also signed up a third, unidentified GDS, to process some of its international bookings.
