Former Visa IT chief joins Travelport’s board

Former Visa Europe chief information officer Steven Chambers is joining Travelport’s board of directors.

Former Visa Europe chief information officer Steven Chambers is joining Travelport’s board of directors.

The appointment is effective immediately. Chambers will also become a member of the board’s compensation committee on June 1.

At Visa Europe he had overall responsibility for Visa Europe’s transaction processing business which included running all of the organisation’s IT and business operations.

Douglas Steenland, chairman of Travelport, said Chambers brought “significant insight into designing and operating mission critical technology on a global basis and at scale” to the business.

“He also has significant experience in the payments space which is an area of focus for Travelport through our eNett subsidiary,” added Steenland.
