TravelFusion has created a new platform – Atlas Blue – to connect 140 low cost airlines through a single XML API interface.
The air content distribution provider will work with 30 online travel agencies around the world and a number of other ecommerce sites with the new system.
The tool will provide access to content and web fares not available on traditional GDSs, the company claimed this week.
TravelFusion’s technology is also expected to reach over 200 airlines with booking facilities by the third quarter of 2008.
Chief executive Moshe Rafiah said: “We have proven that the ‘direct connect’ model is the lowest cost distribution system.
“With this vital content reach of airlines from around the world – we are fast becoming an indispensable distribution system for any online travel and e-commerce operations both for leisure and business travellers.”
