Eurostar is to offer agents and operators access to its booking inventory system through the Amadeus rail sales platform.

The Amadeus Rail Display and Web Services solutions will enable the Channel Tunnel passenger rail service to provide its routes and fares to the trade globally, subject to commercial agreements between the rail provider and distributors.

The Amadeus Rail platform integration provides direct access to Eurostar’s inventory for online tour operators, in turn making the rail company more accessible to leisure travellers in the markets it operates.

Distributors will also be able to expand their travel offering by providing all Eurostar routes and fares, including leisure and tour operator fares as well as some SNCF and SNCB connections.

Head of sales, Darren Williams, said: “Eurostar has been working with Amadeus since 2006 when our two companies signed their first technology and distribution agreement, making Eurostar available alongside airlines on the Amadeus Air-Rail Display.

“Now, the Amadeus rail platform will unlock a prime sales channel for us. This agreement enables us to deploy our full range of fares in a quick and simple manner to travel agencies and tour operators around the world.

“We are pleased to continue our successful partnership with Amadeus to better serve our travellers, particularly in the leisure sector and the broader online community.”

Rose Fernandez, marketing director of Amadeus UK and Ireland, added: “Amadeus is delighted to be extending its relationship with Eurostar to provide UK customers with access to their full content.

“Available through Amadeus Web Services in mid-2015, Eurostar will also join SNCF in Amadeus Selling Platform as part of the new, Rail Display later in the year.

“This development will enable travel professionals and their customers to compare and book rail services more efficiently via online and offline sales channels and is a true step towards a European multi-modal travel offering.”
