Logitravel grows revenue 23% in bid to establish itself as OTA

Logitravel Group invoiced a total of EUR 514 million in 2014, increasing its turnover by 23% from the previous year.

Logitravel Group invoiced a total of EUR 514 million in 2014, increasing its turnover by 23% from the previous year.

The owner of OTA Logitravel.co.uk met its own objectives of sustained growth and establishing itself within in the tourism sector.

Tomeu Bennasar, general director of Logitravel.co.uk, said: “Although it is a very competitive and mature market, in 2014 we managed to find a gap among the online operators.

“In 2015 we expect further growth and therefore record larger volumes of passengers and billing. In fact, data from the beginning of the year shows we are heading in the right direction.”

The revenue growth was made possible by the overall increase in passengers experienced by the Group in 2014. Logitravel booked 2.5 million passengers in 2014, a growth of 14% on the previous year.

The Package product line experienced the highest growth; passenger numbers increased 42%, while cruise passengers increased by 22%.For the second year running, the bulk of the turnover came from package holidays compared to individually purchased services. In total, 76% of turnover in 2014 came from holidays.

The group now operates in nine markets after taking steps to open in Mexico late in 2014. Countries that have experienced the highest growth in 2014 were Portugal and Brazil.
