Ryanair has reported that bookings from American travellers are up by almost 50% since the launch of its US website in December.

Most of the travellers using the website come from California, New York, Texas, Florida and New Jersey.

The most popular route is London Stansted to Dublin, followed by Edinburgh to Dublin and Rome to Barcelona.

The web site includes Ryanair’s ‘Fare Finder’ to help customers find the lowest fare, with payment in USD.

A ‘Share the Fare’ feature enables travellers to share ticket prices with friends and family via social media.

Ryanair’s Robin Kiely, said: “Ryanair launched a dedicated American version of the Ryanair.com website to make it easier for US customers to book Europe’s lowest fares.

“US customers can now book Ryanair’s low fares in dollars and bring a free small second carry-on bag on board, enjoy “quiet flights,” choose allocated seats, use their personal electronic devices at all stages of their flight, and avail of our Family Extra and Business Plus services, making Ryanair the ideal choice for European travel for families, friends and businesses across the United States.”
