James Villas switches to accommodation-only model

Online specialist says ditching flight inclusive packages will give it more resources to invest

James Villas has stopped selling flight-inclusive bookings and is instead offering solely accommodation-only holidays.

The villa specialist said the change took effect from October 8, and insisted the accommodation-only focus would allow it “to invest even more resource into what it does best: curating a wide range of fantastic villas, combined with award-winning customer service”.

Despite the change, James Villas confirmed it had renewed its Atol licence, meaning customers who received a Refund Credit Note for a flight-inclusive booking can still book a replacement holiday through the company.

It also confirmed holidays including flights and other extras booked before October 2020 would be subject to the conditions in place at the time of booking, and said that “over time” it aimed to introduce “further ancillary revenues, including flights” through technology partners.

Andreas Nau, managing director, said: “We have over 35 years of experience in the villa market and have an expert team with the knowledge to find and support high-quality villas in great holiday locations.

“Our customers will benefit from an increased portfolio, with more choice when looking for their holiday. We will continue to uphold the same high level of customer service and support that we have provided for many years.”
