Booking.com is presenting its 2014 Award of Excellence to 200,776 properties, from 176 countries.

The annual award recognises accommodation partners achievements over the past year, measured by overall guest review score. Booking.com currently features more than 42 million guest reviews, in 2014 an average of 104,669 guest reviews per day were recieved.

To receive an award the accommodation must have an average review score of eight or higher, based on at least 10 guest reviews by 31 December 2014. The average winning score this year is a record 8.7 out of 10.

The top of the list sees Italy (27,766), United States (18,393), France (14,096), Germany (12,171), Spain (11,819), and the United Kingdom (11,225). The countries with the highest average score this year are Austria and Belgium, with an average guest review score of 8.84.

An impressive 66 properties are being awarded for having a perfect score of 10, including 15 in the United Kingdom. Nearly a third of all properties being honoured have an average review score of 9 or higher.
