Travelport’s UK chief to be given responsibility for Nordics

Travelport’s Nordic operations will now be led by Simon Ferguson, the managing director for UK and Ireland.

Travelport’s Nordic operations will now be led by Simon Ferguson, their managing director for the UK and Ireland.

This new arrangement means that Travelport’s Nordic (Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland) customers will benefit from the centralised functions and product experts based at the company’s UK headquarters.

Ferguson said: “The Nordics is one of the most exciting European travel regions, with digitally savvy consumers, suppliers and intermediaries and an optimistic outlook for both leisure and business travel. There is huge opportunity for Travelport’s Travel Commerce Platform, and I look forward to driving our business and fuelling the growth of our customers.”

Mathias Andersson, the former regional manager for Travelport Nordics, moves to a new role at Hotelzon. Mathias becomes the chief operating officer of the B2B hotel distribution technology provider, which was acquired by Travelport last year.

Damiano Sabatino, vice president and managing director Western Europe for Travelport, added: “Simon is the ideal person to build on the great work achieved by Mathias Andersson in the Nordics and to help lead our business there to the next phase in its development.

“I am confident that our customers will benefit hugely from Simon’s knowledge and experience as he works closely with the team to continue offering the travel industry in the Nordics the most innovative solutions and unrivalled travel content possible.”

The Nordic management team is completed by Anita Wagner Feddersen, Peter Cramon and Jette Kongensgaard.
