Cruise trade body Clia plans to deliver more digital events

Programme for November revealed after success of Summer School webinars

A new range of virtual events will be hosted by Clia UK & Ireland through to November.

The initiative follows a series of live ‘Summer School’ webinars in July and August.

The virtual events aim to bring together the cruise community including the cruise industry body’s member cruise lines, partners and travel agents to share updates, showcase new products and itineraries and attend training webinars.

The 2020 line-up is:

  • Virtual River Cruise Showcase – September 23

Consisting of business sessions, training and networking.

  • Clia Webinar – September date TBC

Clia UK & Ireland director Andy Harmer shares what agent members can look forward to in 2020 from Clia.

  • Virtual Clia Cruise Showcase – October 28

Consisting of business sessions, training and networking and virtual ship tours.

  • Virtual Ship Tours – throughout October and November

Take a whistle stop virtual tour of four ships from four different cruise lines all in one hour.

Harmer said: “For the remainder of this year Clia has planned a range of online events, all of which are complimentary to our travel agent members.

“We aim to bring the same feel to our virtual events as we do to our in-person events, which have become renowned for being informative, engaging and entertaining.

“We’re very much looking forward to catching up with agents and as we bring together the cruise community to share our collective passion for this wonderful industry.”
