Travolution Summit 2020: Getting back in the race and into travel’s fast lane

Event in October will hear from an expert from Formula One on how to fine tune performance

Delegates at this year’s Travolution Summit will hear what travel firms can learn from Formula One to get back in the race following the COVID-19 travel sector shutdown.

The 2020 summit, that will take place virtually online on the mornings of October 1 and 2, is providing non-travel insight with headline speaker Peter Van Manen.

He will apply to travel what he understands about driving maximum performance having worked for 20 years in an extremely competitive sport.

As managing director of McLaren Applied Technologies, Van Manen developed a leading expertise in how data, tech and human ingenuity power results-driven organisations.

In Formula One, Van Manen has worked on advances on vehicles that produce more than 750 million data points from 500 parameters over the course of a race.

Lee Hayhurst, Travolution executive editor, said: “Formula One epitomises how technology, innovation and processes can help man and machine work in harmony and achieve superhuman feats of performance.

“As travel looks forward to 2021, it will be vital that all firms ensure they are fine-tuned to restart their engines and get back into the fast lane as quickly as possible to supercharge their recovery.

“Given the COVID-19 crisis and its devastating impact on travel, we think it’s more important than ever that travel firms look beyond the industry for inspiration and advice. In the past non-travel speakers at our summit have always been a particular highlight.”

Registrations for the summit are free and are open now.
