Digital Trip and Revelex team up to offer agents a new cruise platform

Bournemouth travel technology specialist Digital Trip launched a new cruise platform for agents having struck an agreement with US-based Revelex.

The firm is urging agents to take advantage of the growing and potentially lucrative cruise sector, by using the new platform.

Andy Speight, managing director of Digital Trip, said: “Travel agents would be mad to ignore how much profit they can make from selling the latest cruise deals, but many agents feel their website isn’t sophisticated enough to compete for this type of business against larger dominant competitors.

“Using our new cruise booking technology, small and medium travel enterprises can level the playing field and operate online with all the sophistication of a big operator – but at a fraction of the cost.”

Digital Trip’s partnership with US-based Revelex offers direct connections to over 35 major cruise lines.

These include leading UK brands like P&O Cruises, Cunard and Fred Olsen Cruise Lines as well as international lines like Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, Carnival Cruises, Princess Cruises, Disney Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, MSC, and Norwegian Cruise Line.

Alice Jones, UK sales director and analyst at Revelex Corporation, said: “January to March is the most profitable time to sell cruises, so agents need to review their business strategy and consider adding cruises to their holiday portfolio in 2015.

“Digital Trip is the perfect fit for us and we’re proud that our partnership with Digital Trip will enable smaller agencies to take advantage of the highly profitable cruise sector.”

The new cruise platform allows agents to offer customers a comprehensive selection of fully bookable cruise options.

Live pricing is available for the majority of ships and cabins, as well as imagery, reviews and videos.

Agents can customise cruise feeds to pull web and private fares, then search and book multiple cruise products in real-time, applying mark-ups and discounts with the easy to use tools.

The new cruise platform integrates into Digital Trip’s existing portfolio of travel technology modules, offering customers a fully integrated platform that works across all channels.

Cruise bookings will be hosted and managed by Revelex, while Digital Trip will process all payments. Digital Trip said the benefit for customers is that the front-end will never change.
