AAA, North America’s largest travel organisation, is to partner with destination product specialist Viator to provide product services on its main website.

The AAA.com portal is due to be relaunched in 2008 and will feature Viator’s 5,500 products in 75 countries around the world.

Partner agents using the site will also have access to the services as well as AAA member clubs.

Viator founder and chairman Rod Cuthbert said: “Empowering travellers to plan the perfect trip is a vision shared by AAA and Viator.

“A key objective of the partnership is to ensure AAA members don’t find themselves in situations where a key vacation activity – whether visiting Alcatraz, a guided tour of the Vatican Museums or any of a thousand other popular activities – is sold out.

“That’s an increasingly common occurrence and a key factor in AAA’s decision to provide this advance booking service to their members.”

AAA managing director Betsey Sell said: “Booking trip activities before departure is becoming more essential for travellers today, and we’re delighted to add Viator’s pre-screened tours and activities to our AAA services to further help travellers get the most out of their journey.

“Viator’s expertise and global reach make it an ideal partner to expand AAA’s trip activity services for our customers while carrying on our tradition of providing our members with the highest levels of quality.”
