Hospitality management platform Roomex launches preferred hotel programme

The programme will offer discounted rates for business travellers

Dublin-based hotel management platform Roomex has launched a preferred hotel programme designed to benefit travellers and hotels.

Roomex said the programme will offer discounted rates for business travellers as well as open a new market for participating hotels at no additional cost.

Over 120 hotels have already signed up to the initiative, including Jurys, Thistle, Clayton, Maldron and Village hotels. This allows them to offer exclusive discounts, or “Roomex Rates,” directly to the workforce traveller without distribution costs.

“It is increasingly challenging for hotels to compete in the business travel space with rising distribution costs,” said Keith Watson, vice president of global supply, Roomex.

“We have launched the Roomex preferred hotel programme to give our hotel partners direct access, with no additional fees, to the workforce traveller.”

A pilot programme at the Maldron Hotel Dublin airport showed a threehold increase in room bookings.

Andrea Molloy, sales and marketing manager at the hotel, said: “We were delighted to work with Roomex on their Preferred hotel Programe and experienced a 326% increase in room nights book in Q3, compared to Q3, 2018.”

As Roomex grows the programme over the coming months, the company said customers will see an increase in listings flagged with the exclusive Roomex Rate logo.

“We are focused on offering our customers across the world new ways of driving efficiencies within their business, reducing the time and cost of workforce travel,” said Lia Bresnihan, vice president of market, Roomex.

“This new initiative will ensure all travel bookers can easily identify these exclusive Roomex Rates across complete global supply from one single booking platform, saving both time and money.”
