Three streams, three theatres, three keynote sessions. This year, Travel Technology Europe is making it easy for visitors to access the solutions, insights and suppliers that matter to them. Conference director Mark Frary tells us what we can expect from the show in 2019.
This year, the conference comprises three streams – how do these differ?
We have broken down the conference into three streams – Inside, Interaction and Innovation – to make it easier for visitors to identify which sessions are the most relevant to them based on their business’s challenges.
‘Inside’ looks at internal business issues; ‘Interaction’ at how brands can connect with travellers; and ‘Innovation’, at forward-thinking topics and technology.
We have also listened to feedback from last year and labelled each session based on audience relevance.
What other key changes can visitors expect?
Another key development for 2019 is that the keynote sessions have been staggered in order for visitors to attend all three – drawing on feedback from previous attendees.
We’ve got some huge draws this year, with speakers from Google Assistant, Microsoft and IBM featuring in our keynote spots, so visitors won’t want to miss any of them.
Which topics will be covered within the three theatres?
Visitors to the show will get access to a host of sessions across three theatres; Innovation, Marketing and Travel Technology.
Delivered by expert speakers, sessions will cover the hottest topics affecting this industry including; Internet of Things, NDC, cyber security, Blockchain, personalisation and much more.
What are your personal picks from this year’s conference?
My personal ‘must do’ sessions for 2019 include Lax Poojary from Google’s Touring Bird talking about the trend for experiential travel and the rising demand for tours and activities; Sharon Moore, CTO of IBM Travel and Transportation, who will be talking about women in travel tech; and the C-suite question time, featuring experts from Dnata, Amadeus, Costa, Red Carnation Hotels and Rentals United. I’m also really looking forward to the session on “what have we learned post-GDPR”.
