Travel social network WAYN is adding hostel search and booking to its armoury of tools for members.

Members will be able to browse through listings for 13,000 hostels in 166 countries following a deal signed with Hostelworld.com.

Hostelworld is part of the Dublin-based Web Reservations International group, the company behind the consumer review and travel portal Boo.com.

Co-founder and co-chief executive of WAYN, Peter Ward, said: “This partnership means that our members will not only find it even easier to share their recommendations on the best places to stay when they travel, with their friends and others, but it also means that they will have access to an excellent range of accommodation to choose from at all budget levels, with prices starting from only £5 per night.

“We’re really excited to be working with such a well recognized and trusted brand, which comes highly recommended amongst travellers and tourists alike.’

The partnership is the latest in a line of developments between WAYN and third party accommodation and flight providers.

Meta search engine Kayak is currently providing flight search functionality and a recently announced deal with Lastminute.com’s new Partnership Programme will allow WAYN members to search 80,000 hotels through the Sabre/Medhotels/Lastminute.com portfolio.

Ray Nolan, chief executive and founder of Hostelworld, added: “We’re really happy to be working with WAYN.com and see this as a great opportunity for us to provide a rich user base of informed travellers with the best possible range of choice when it comes to booking their hostel or budget accommodation arrangements online.”
