Channel manager NextPax claims to have become one of the first to deploy a new TripAdvisor Rentals connection allowing real-time synchronisation of rates and availability.

The ‘two-way’ API connectivity will mean more accurate and efficient sharing of information between suppliers’ reservation systems and the accommodation marketing platform.

Previously data was pushed one way only, from reservation system to TripAdvisor Rentals.

NextPax said the new development will provide an improved experience for travellers booking on the site and homeowners or property managers who list on TripAdvisor.

When a booking is made, there will be a pre-booking check to ensure rates and availability are correct.

Once the booking is completed, NextPax will push the booking into the reservation system.

Robert van der Mast, chief technology officer at NextPax, said: “We are very pleased with the results the technical teams of TripAdvisor Rentals and NextPax have achieved.

“In addition to the two-way API, a live request is sent to the Assisted Rates API to ensure near real time pricing.

“This means property managers can now also offer best available rates directly at TripAdvisor, improving their conversion via the distribution channel.”
