Expedia-owned specialist OTA Hotels.com agreed a sales partnership with Connect Worldwide to build local presence and stronger relationship with travel agent communities.

The new partnership will see Connect Worldwide handle business development, account management and support services for the Hotels.com Travel Agents Interface (TAI).

The agreement covers 11 Latin American, Northern European and Asian countries.

President and chief executive of Connect Worldwide, Eric Otto, said: “We welcome Hotels.com as our newest travel partner.

“We look forward to increasing travel agent sales in and from these 11 important markets. Our in-country teams maintain excellent relationships with the local travel communities in these countries, thereby ensuring that Hotels.com will be well represented.”

The Hotels.com Travel Agent Interface includes hundreds of thousands of hotels, B&Bs, beach resorts and vacation rentals.

Travel agents who handle bookings through Hotels.com earn commission and can access the same online special offers normally reserved for Hotels.com registered consumers.

Lido Loveri, partner marketing director at Hotels.com, said: “Hotels.com for travel agents business is growing fast in a number of regions.

“For this reason we have decided to reinforce our local presence by partnering with Connect Worldwide, a global player that guarantees the execution of our business development and account management strategy in these B2B markets.”
