Eurostar passengers will be able to watch Amazon Prime Video shows on board via the high-speed rail service’s new app.

The Grand Tour, featuring former Top Gear hosts Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond is among the content passengers can view.

Other shows include dystopian series Man in the High Castle, Transparent and a range of children’s TV shows such as Gortimer Gibbons’ Life on Normal Street, Just Add Magic and The Kicks.

Free access to Amazon Prime Video will launch on Eurostar’s e320 trains, which link the UK to mainland Europe.

The catalogue will be refreshed regularly.

Neil Roberts, head of digital for Eurostar, said: “Our onboard entertainment system offers passengers more than 300 hours of free content, all available through the new app, accessible on their own device. With our new Amazon Prime Video partnership, we’re delighted to offer our travellers even more choice, as they speed across the Channel on our new trains.”

Jay Marine, vice president Prime Video Europe, at Amazon, added: “This significant partnership with Eurostar will bring passengers who haven’t yet watched our shows a fantastic selection of the best of Prime Video. From our number one worldwide show The Grand Tour through to a selection of great kids shows, passengers will be able to access leading Prime Video entertainment whilst on the move.”

Eurostar’s new app allows customers to book travel to connecting destinations, store mobile tickets for boarding, update or change bookings, access their Club Eurostar loyalty cards and check live departures and arrivals.
