Travel extras specialist Holiday Extras has acquired Chauntry, a provider of booking systems to 80 airports.

Chauntry, which also provides systems for car park operators, processes tens of thousands of reservations every day and creates millions in revenue.

It is hoped the deal will improve Holiday Extras’ reach through Chauntry’s experience in delivering web applications.

Holiday Extras will now be able to deliver end to end booking technology, distribution services and operating system support for airports and car park operators, it said.

Holiday Extras’ Group CEO, Matthew Pack said: “This is a friendly acquisition of a business that Holiday Extras has enjoyed a long-term partnership with. We will be investing in the team and software to develop Chauntry’s market leading position. We are excited by the prospect of Chauntry now being part of the Holiday Extras Group. By adding its services, people and expertise to our teams, we will be widening our offer to partners, whilst capitalising on the mutual benefits in enhanced performance that tighter integration brings.

“We see the acquisition as an investment in our future; a clear indication of our intention to innovate as we build upon the already excellent technology platforms in existence within our business. This will serve to increase our customers’ overall experience as we deliver the holiday additions that makes travel easier for everyone.”

Theresa Hughes, CEO of Chauntry, added: “We look forward to becoming part of the Holiday Extras group as we share a common goal – to drive technological advancement in travel. I’m impressed by Holiday Extras’ commitment to continuing the strong partnerships we have built over the last 25 years with customers such as APH and Heathrow Airport, as well as their passionate interest in building new partnerships over the coming months.”
