Olympic Holidays unveils enhanced trade portal

Olympic Holidays has revamped its travel agent portal with a new holiday search grid after switching off viewdata.

The Holiday Deals Calender allows agents to search for all holidays available within a 10-day period, covering all accommodation from self-catering to five-star hotels.

The move follows requests from agents to provide a search system that allows them to check all available holidays for clients.

Agents can also now download posters to promote deals and personalise with their own details.

Marketing director Carl Catterall said: “Agents asked us to freshen up what we are doing in terms of the product and look and feel and what we can do to support them. They can now download posters with their own contact details.”

The operator is also talking to agency groups with which it can work more closely as it prepares to focus on regional departures.

“We will have more emphasis on certain regions and we would like to work with agents for our turn-of-year campaign. We are talking to miniples about it,” added Catterall.

Olympic would not reveal details of its peak sales campaign, but promised a bigger campaign than this year, with a big emphasis on regional advertising, which will support the trade in its messaging.

For 2018, the operator is offering new destinations and product such as Madeira, Cape Verde, Greek island-hopping trips and more upmarket family hotels, and has added scheduled flights, including British Airways, which has opened up flying from regional airports.

Previously, Olympic relied on charter flights, limiting it to specific seven and 14-night departures and to main airports.

A new booking engine goes live on December 1 to make searching easier for holidaymakers and agents on its consumer website.
