New mytravelapp slashes agent’s ‘operational costs by 75%’, owner claims

An independent travel agent has invented an app for his customers after becoming so fed up with soaring postage costs.

Mark Delaney, 42, who set up Travel Circle in Longridge, Lancashire, 18 years ago, decided to develop an app after attending the World Travel Market in London last year.

mytravelapp, which launched last month, serves as an online portal between the agent and client, eliminating any paperwork and therefore postage costs too.

Travel agents can send clients any receipts, invoices, tickets and boarding passes via the app.

Customers can also upload their own passports, European Health Insurance Card and driving license to the app.

He believes mytravelapp, developed by Harfindel Technology, cuts operational costs by 75%.

Delaney said: “We have had a fantastic response since launching the app on September 30 at the Midcounties’ Co-operative Travel Consortium Conference.

“It completely eliminates all your postage costs. When other businesses see what it can do for its business and see how easy it is to use and see how it can save them money they will want it too.

“Also, the customer has got everything at their fingertips.”

Through the mytravelapp clients can also book any extras – such as car parking or attraction tickets – on any mobile device or tablet.
